Re-Imagine Africa News with $100

Reimagine African News

Finding news from Africa, and about Africa, has never been easy. But more than ever, it feels daunting.

We hope you will consider joining us to change this great injustice through a donation now of $100. Or you can give whatever you can spare.

While it is home to nearly a fifth of the world’s population and habitable land area, the African continent’s challenges and triumphs barely register outside of its 54 diverse countries. Furthermore, complicating this sad state of affairs, the current US government’s hostility to the African community in America has threatened to silence its voice altogether.

We share with you, I hope, the belief that the African diaspora at home and persistence and spirit abroad, are a critical part of our shared future.

A new day will dawn. One world with a common heritage and a richness of cultures and perspectives is necessary for us all to thrive. Moreover, it is necessary for us to build a sustainable future for the next generation. But it will only come about if we knit and reknit together the knowledge, relationships and ambitions we share.

While this is a dream that can seem more difficult than ever, we at Africa Agenda, know that magnifying the voices of our communities is a critical element in making this dream possible to achieve.

That is why we are investing over the next year to uncover and illuminate the news and information that is essential to staying connected and reconnecting with the African community at home and abroad. Moreover, this powerful voice can and will be heard again, but we must all do our part. We must resist the narrative that prosperity is a zero-sum game. We all gain from a healthy global community that builds together.

Over the next year, we plan to partner in strengthening the community at home and the community abroad, to build financial strength and talented new voices that can uncover opportunities for everyone.

As always, we know we cannot do this alone. We need volunteers and a critical investment of $20,000 in meaningful programming.

We need $15,000 to support our first Africa Agenda journalism fellow as a competitive scholarship for superlative local journalism students. In addition, we need $5000 to hold a series of community strengthening workshops with local partners. These workshops will build collaboration and financial knowledge in our community here in Colorado.

The lion share of our income comes from the Annual Summit, but we are ready to do more, knowing that with your help we can meet the challenge of the deafening and deadening silence.

Please consider a donation now, if you can, to help us meet this $20,000 challenge.

As always, we know that you, our community, are our most important resource. We are hoping that you will consider supporting this campaign to lay some important foundation stones for the future.

In Solidarity,
