June 2, 2012According to the organization, the first part of the visit is a mentoring partnership program for young African Leaders. The program “will place 8 truly remarkable and innovative individuals from across Africa with interests ranging from electric vehicles to mobile banking to sustainable development with experienced counterparts in their industries in the U.S. for a seven-day mentorship program in Denver,” stated an email from the organization.
African entrepreneurs come from various African nations that including Cameroon, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, and Ghana.
The second part is “an investigative journalism” International Visitor Leadership Program that will “introduce journalists and media professionals from around the world to U.S practices and trends in the field of journalism,” according to World Denver.
The investigative journalists come from many nations, including Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Burma, Cambodia, Cameroon, Costa Rica, Croatia, Iceland, India, Iraq, Jordan, Latvia, Liberia, Macedonia, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Uganda.
A reception to welcome these professionals is scheduled for June 21 in downtown Denver. The program is being sponsored by the U.S State Department.
