While polls for new elections must be organized within 45 days following the death of Omar Bongo, Senate President and Gabonese woman, Rose Francine Rogombe is now interim president of Gabon, according to the country’s constitution. Rogombe was installed as interim president June 10.
The country now awaits elections to choose a new leader.
