Africa News Matters came into existence in 2017. It is designed as a space for critical engagement to provide a catalyst to change the pervasive misinformation and stereotyping of the African continent.

Africa News Matters does not shield the truth about the African continent—such as the impoverishment of a segment of its population, constant warfare among some countries and neighbors, or government corruption. But there is much more to the story. We need to expose the lies, stereotypes, falsehoods, and blackmail for what they are.
